More and more we will see people in their sheds/garages/bedrooms developing ideas and pitching them to companies online. This is something that has always happened but not quite as publically as it is now. Rather than hundreds of calls and alot of doors being shut in your face you develop the idea and, as this guy did after hacking his Wii-mote to allow 3D gaming, post on YouTube. The responses and views should also give a pretty good indication of whether if there is a market for it.
This guy has also done Wii finger tracking and a Wii whiteboard.
