Dalai Lama Does Twitter

Over 10,000 people in 16 hours.

I also note Stepehn Fry just broke 100,000 last friday and is now up to 156,179

True 1-2-1 communication on a massive scale.

Ps one way to get innovation through your clients - dont tell them - I set up the marketing publication - brandrepublic on twitter for the fun of it a couple of years ago when they were a client of the agency and to this day I dont think they know they have 1,500 people following them or what to do with them.

Great to see His Holiness tweeting away.

BR use Twitter as a RSS feed from what I can see. At least Gordon M has his separate account...

Was thinking of signing up a few of the brands I work on to Twitter...before someone else does...

Incredible. Can't wait until every blogger covers the Dalai Lama and social media...

Does this officially make Twitter mainstream?

RE: Brandrepublic on Twitter - "A couple of years ago"?? The first post was may 2008? Is someone trying to act like an early adopter here or what? http://tinyurl.com/bgn8vr

@nick yes it is a straight rss feed

No one is trying to act like an early adopter, but when I checked Twitter Rank the BR account was set up on 2007-06-26 06:23:49.

@Giles Rhys Jones it isn't a straight RSS feed - although we are using RSS. We are also actively monitoring it, RT some stuff and replying to people who ask questions. Like this one.

Hope that helps.
